The FBI and the FCC have weighed in on the messages that multiple Black people across the country received on Wednesday.

Just days after Election Day 2024, anonymous text messages have targeted Black Americans across nearly a dozen states, instructing them to “pick cotton" at local plantations.

A federal investigation is underway after racist text messages were sent to Black people in several states this week, including in Ohio.
